$250 towards $500

When we asked our children why they'd like to participate J said, "Because it's loving". D said, "It's nice to help people who need help. I'd like to learn more about this problem." We'd like to build more awareness and empathy about the suffering that's happening in our community.

Several years ago when Gov. Rauner cut social services funding overnight shelters were forced to close. I was able to be a small part of a group making an effort to be a faith based response to this problem. While its still hasn't been addressed on a governmental level we seek to continue to fill the gap between reality and justice.

Please help us make sure no one sleeps outside in Evanston's cold weather this winter.

Please make a donation and help me meet my goal for Interfaith Action of Evanston's Walk for Warmth.

The 2-mile family-friendly Walk for Warmth starts and ends at First United Methodist Church, 516 Church St., and is scheduled from 11 am - 1:30 pm. We will walk to six of the locations that generously provide space for the shelter in 3-week rotations throughout the winter. One of the locations we visit will be set up to shelter guests on that evening. Hope to see you on January 20th! Bundle up.

Thanks.
