Welcome to the Team Heinz fundraiser!

This is the third winter that, with your help, Interfaith Action of Evanston will meet the goal of providing a warm, dry and safe space to sleep every winter night. As you may have heard, some people experiencing homelessness in Evanston have been temporarily housed in hotels during the pandemic. However, for many reasons, others continue to search each night for places to sleep. The Emergency Overnight Shelter provides a much-needed refuge from the Midwest’s dark, brutal winters.

Even though the shelter space is provided without charge by the faith communities that host the shelter in rotation throughout the winter, Interfaith Action needs to raise more than $70,000 each year to operate the shelter - to provide cots, bedding, laundry, warm beverages and paid supervisory staff. You can help by clicking the Donate button on this page. Thanks.

On January 18, 2021, Martin Luther King Jr Day, I will be decorating my car and joining the Walk for Warmth on Wheels Car Parade starting at 11 AM in the Evanston Civic Center parking lot. Advance registration is required. Register now. The parade route will go past the six central Evanston churches and synagogues that are taking turns sheltering people this winter.

Will you join me in keeping the shelter open? Here’s how you can help:
